Hello there and thanks for visiting my blog “Wheaton Band Festival”! I’m Emily, a full-time mom and self-style nutritionist. To begin with, eating healthy is not so easy to implement, especially with toddlers and older children.
In my case, with two kids at home, when I need to build a plate of food for them, I find myself filled with dread. I mean, it shouldn’t be this hard, right? How do you balance nutrition and taste? Is it even possible to put forth a meal that is packed with nutrients and flavor? This thought led me down a long and arduous path of research, experimentation and innovation.
Thanks to the internet, I have been able to source yummy recipes and not only that, I have also been able to innovate on my own to create a lovely rotating menu of dishes for my children.
I’ve discovered that the art of nutritious eating is in cooking. While eating out or even ordering from outside is convenient, it doesn’t exactly help your case because outside food may or may not meet basic standards of hygiene. But dinner is not the problem, lunch is.
Children are so clear about what they want, I have a long menu of what I can and cannot put in their boxes for school. More kids, more demands. It’s crazy! On a regular day, I try to include two things in the menu – one being something they like, and the other being something I would like them to eat. Obviously, what I would like them to eat is something nutritious and wholesome and what they prefer is French Fries! Now, if I can bribe them with a favorite food so they will try my option, then bribe I shall! And, hey, two types of vegetables in one day? There’s no bigger win, if you ask me!
So, if you need more such lunch box hacks, then read my blog. I’m not a super mom who knows everything, so feel free to leave your ideas in the comments section and contact me if you have any questions!
